This is our HYDRUMP internal low speed kit with LED, model WJ-414, made for clinics that want both the internal cooling channel and a built-in light on a low speed set.

The water travels inside the contra angle and reaches the bur tip directly, so even at low speed the cutting point stays cool. Alongside that, an LED white light shines from the head, so you can see the bur tip clearly without bending into the chair light. The contra angle uses a ball bearing and a heat-treated gear, which keeps it smooth and helps it last longer.

A dentist in Lagos tested an early batch and told us his previous low speed handpiece had neither water nor light, so during root canal access he had to lean in close to see, and the bur would heat up against the tooth. With internal water and the LED he can work safely. He estimated a root canal access opening that used to take around nine minutes now takes about six, and the tooth no longer gets hot. That is why we kept the internal channel and the LED.

The kit runs at 28000 to 40000 RPM on 0.25 to 0.30 MPa, puts out 25 to 45 Ncm of torque, and stays under 60 dB. It uses a single internal water spray on a standard head with push button chuck, the body is hard chrome plated so it resists scratches, and the whole kit autoclaves at 135 degrees.

In the first lot the LED would sometimes fail to come back on after repeated autoclaving. We improved the LED seal and now run five thousand on-off cycles on each lot, and the light now comes on every time.

This kit fits low speed preparation, polishing and endodontic access. To cut through a crown, use our high speed handpiece.
