This is a 45 degree fiber optic high speed contra angle handpiece (model 110258). The angled head reaches posterior teeth that a straight high speed cannot get at comfortably, and the fiber optic light lights up the back of the mouth without a separate cord.

Configuration
The 45° head is the key feature. A special air vent on the handpiece directs exhaust away from the patient's throat. Kavo 6-hole fiber optic quick coupling clips in and lights up. Outer water spray cools the bur.
Performance
The 45° angle lets the bur approach a distal box from the side rather than straight down, which is what you need for a second molar. The fiber optic light stays consistent through the Kavo coupling. Push-button bur changes are one-handed. In practice this handpiece lives in the posterior-prep drawer and comes out the moment the patient opens wider.

Distal access, second molar preparation, and any posterior prep where a straight handpiece would force the patient to overopen.
Sterilisation and Maintenance
135°C autoclave. The Kavo coupling makes swapping handpieces fast. Clean the fiber optic contact with a dry cloth to keep light bright. Generally speaking, if the light dims, clean the coupling contact before replacing anything.
